The Engineer, Application Development is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for configuring, developing, administering, and supporting ASSP’s core application platforms, including Nimble

AMS (built on Salesforce) and integrations with third‑party systems. The Engineer executes defined technical work streams, participates in solution design, and contributes to the ongoing health and improvement of ASSP’s application platforms under the direction of senior technical leadership. AMS and Salesforce skills, interest in integration and automation, and the ability to translate requirements into effective solutions that support member engagement, operational efficiency, and data‑informed decision‑making.

This position is open to candidates located in Illinois. While most work is performed remotely, the role requires periodic on‑site presence at our headquarters in Park Ridge, Illinois, for meetings, collaboration, and organizational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize the Nimble

    AMS and Salesforce environments, including platform configuration, security, user support, reporting, and system functionality to support business operations and user needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and support Salesforce solutions using declarative and programmatic tools, including flows, validation rules, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and data queries.
  • Support integrations between enterprise systems and applications to ensure reliable data flow, interoperability, and system effectiveness.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, upgrades, releases, and production support to maintain stable and reliable platform operations.
  • Maintain data integrity, support data governance and hygiene efforts, and assist with deduplication, reporting accuracy, and ongoing system quality improvements.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize automated workflows, business processes, reports, and dashboards to improve operational efficiency and support business decision‑making.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to gather requirements, resolve issues, prioritize enhancements, and implement solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to technical planning, solution design, implementation activities, and project execution within established standards and priorities.
  • Provide application support, technical guidance, and user assistance related to platform functionality, configuration, and enterprise systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system knowledge resources while supporting compliance, security, governance, and continuity practices.
  • Support the onboarding, administration, and maintenance of enterprise SaaS applications to ensure effective adoption and operational alignment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Solid proficiency in Salesforce administration and declarative development, including flows, validation rules, custom objects, and data management.
  • Experience with Salesforce programmatic development including Apex classes and triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.
  • Proficiency in Nimble

    AMS or a Salesforce‑based association management system, with demonstrated experience supporting AMS administration and configuration in a live environment.
  • Experience building or maintaining system integrations using APIs (REST/SOAP) or automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power BI) and cloud‑based integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and web platforms from an integration and data exchange perspective.
