Lab Technician II

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing on in-process and finished product samples in support of manufacturing operations and customer specifications.
• Analyze samples using established laboratory methods and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, data entry, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
• Communicate test results promptly and accurately to production operators to support process adjustments and production quality.
• Ensure all laboratory equipment is in proper working order, including running controls and performing routine troubleshooting, notifying supervisors of equipment issues.
• Maintain proper housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment in the labs and sample retain areas.
• Retain production samples according to established procedures.
• Utilize laboratory database systems, spreadsheets, and plant software for reporting and tracking test results.
• Support investigations involving off-specification materials, customer complaints, process deviations, and quality concerns.
• Work effectively in a 24-hour manufacturing environment, including shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift handoffs.
• Follow safety operation procedures required by Trecora.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality control lab and/or a Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
