Essential Functions
- Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance services, including fluid and filter replacement within time‑requirement guidelines.
- Operate equipment to ensure proper operation before and after maintenance.
- Conduct load‑bank testing in accordance with client, state and local specifications.
- Carry out scheduled oil sampling (SOS) accurately and send samples to the lab.
- Identify potential safety problems through walk‑around inspections and report them to the supervisor and/or customer.
- Utilize web‑based STW, SIS, and ET to obtain machine specifications and perform required tasks.
- Assist with parts orders needed to complete repairs via SIS.
- Complete factual service reports, load‑bank reports, and inspection reports at the end of each day.
- Communicate equipment issues and status to customer and supervisor.
- Adhere to all customer care standards and safety policies, procedures and standards.
- Participate in training and serve as a team member to support Western States’ strategic programs, projects and initiatives.
- Promote the corporate vision, mission and values of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to self‑schedule and perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, vendors, employees and the public.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with proper fluid disposal and environmental practices.
- Ability to start and run power systems equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime with minimal notice.
- Ability to drive for long periods of time.
- Consistent attendance.
- Proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s Degree or technical training from an accredited vocational school preferred.
- One year of similar experience working on power systems equipment preferred.
- Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, walk, sit, climb stairs, reach, push, pull, lean and twist.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs in accordance with Western States’ Lifting Safe Work Practice including amount and approach.
- Must meet all safety requirements for applicable policies.
