Job Summary:
In this role as Field Engineer – Electrical, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts.
Major Responsibilities:Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
For Direct Hire
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
- Required bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
- Knowledge of above ground and underground raceway installation processes, electrical equipment setting, cable pull management, termination program management, temp power installation and energization.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to environment, safety and health (ES&H) and quality.
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
- Prior experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is preferred.
- Experience with Simple Cycle or Combined Cycle facilities is preferred.
