- Perform duties as Cyber Operations (CO) Instructor for Networking by delivering highly technical training in a military training environment consisting of lectures, labs, exercises and other delivery methods.
- Assist with developing CO training curriculum (lecture content, student/instructor guides, exams, exercises, simulations, etc.).
- Provide classroom instruction that teaches assigned students in the manner described in the course Program of Instruction.
- Conduct practical exercises in a laboratory environment, conduct student study hall periods and provide tutoring/remedial instruction for up to twenty students per class.
- Incorporate and impart technical knowledge into training delivery.
- Assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge proficiency in topic areas.
- Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
- Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO). Experience in CO is defined as experience in Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and/or Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO).
- In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO).
- Experience in adult learning with emphasis on providing instruction to large classes.
- Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with polygraph required. U.S. citizenship required. - Required Advanced Knowledge
- OSI Model and TCP/IP protocol suite (Advanced Level)
- IPv4 and IPv6 (Advanced Level)
- Subnetting, supernetting, and variable length subnet masking (Advanced Level)
- Network traffic flow and loop avoidance (Advanced Level)
- Required Intermediate Knowledge
- Functionality of common application layer protocols and services
- DHCP
- DNS
- FTP
- HTTP
- TFTP
- SNMP
- Routing and Switching methodologies
- Network Address Translation
- Basic protocol analysis of IP, TCP, and UDP headers
- VPNs and VLANs
- Experience configuring networks with routers and switches, including VLANs
- Static routes and dynamic routing protocols including OSPF
- Protocol analysis with tools such as Wireshark
- Understanding network attacks and defense
- Writing router Access Control Lists (ACLs)
- Preferred Qualifications
- US Military instructor certification or designation (e.g., teaching certificate, certified professional instructor, master training specialist, adjunct faculty certification).
- DoDD 8140.01/DoD
8570.01‑M Level II certifications (desired). - Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent (desired).
