Basic Job Functions
  • Mid-level corporate controls. Require to take a lead role in the global implementation and development of electrical control systems/designs, PLC/HMI programming, perform vendor equipment check‑out, equipment/system start‑ups, data collection and optimization of control systems.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
  • Proven understanding/knowledge and experience in controls engineering techniques and practices required for global facilities including North America, Asia, and Europe.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Proven knowledge of global manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
  • Proven experience using Auto Desk AutoCAD drafting software to create electrical schematic and panel layouts.
  • Good knowledge of programming Rockwell Automation Logix PLCs—including ladder and function block diagrams.
  • Good knowledge of Rockwell Automation HMI—including Panel View Plus, Panel View Plus CE, and RSView SE.
  • Good knowledge of designing, programming, and commissioning at least two control networks—including Control Net, Device Net, Profibus, and/or Ethernet.
  • Proven knowledge of robotic systems—including programming, safety requirements, and design/implementation practices.
  • Good knowledge of motion controls—including stepper motors, servo motors, and AC/DC drives.
  • Good knowledge of Cognex vision camera configuration and programming experience.
  • Proven understanding of computer hardware/applications and the Microsoft Office family.
  • Some knowledge of working in server environments.
  • Experience in at least one multi‑tiered architecture using C#, , HTML, XML, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Ethernet architectures and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for global support of manufacturing facilities.

Responsible to assist with global coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.

Responsible to assist with global communication between manufacturing process equipment and SQL database.

Responsible for maintaining and updating manufacturing process tool electrical drawings globally, ensuring the tracking of equipment changes is documented and drawings are kept current.

Responsible for the successful design and theory behind majority of manufacturing control systems, ensuring new process tools adhere to corporate controls standards and best practices.

Responsible for globally troubleshooting and problem‑solving equipment controls related issues and recommending controls policy/standard changes, if possible, to prevent future issues with new manufacturing process tools.

Responsible to interface with multiple departments within the organization and external suppliers to ensure corporate controls policies/standards are understood and being adhered to.

Evaluates new proposed equipment control systems to MES requirements and provides recommendations to vendor and/or internally.

Maintain effective global communications levels and foster team building.

Ensures adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.

Responsible for designing, programming, and coordination of small, mid, and some large scale control systems and projects.

Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
