Job Summary

The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.

• Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root‑cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Actively monitor and report on outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
• Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
• Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
• Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis‑management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance.
• Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, initiatives, incident response planning, facilitation, and management.
• Travel domestically regionally up to 50% of the time when applicable.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments where noise levels vary and can be loud; work in variable temperature and weather conditions (delivery stations include outside loading departments); continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
• Cover 24/7 operations and work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

training leadership and staff; using technology to eliminate subjectivity, complexity, and variation; identifying, preparing for, and mitigating risk; and auditing our practices to ensure compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
• 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.

• Experience in implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
• Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.
• 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
• Investigative interviewing experience; certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification, or other relevant certifications.
• Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics.
