We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance Operations Team as a Finance Operations Administrator
, based at our Peterborough office.

The Finance Operations team sits within Finance Services and plays a vital role in supporting Mencap by processing high‑volume, time‑sensitive financial transactions that help ensure services across the organisation run smoothly. This is a varied and busy role, ideal for someone who enjoys being organised, working with systems, and contributing as part of a supportive team.

This is a full‑time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week). The Finance Operations Administration team are based in our Peterborough office and work in the office 5 days a week.

What you will do

As a Finance Operations Administrator, you will support the team with a range of administrative and transactional tasks, including:

  • Preparing and processing ad‑hoc sales invoices
  • Posting and allocating payments received via bank statements and postal income
  • Managing and maintaining shared finance inboxes and responding to internal and external queries
  • Indexing and managing documents through our electronic document management systems
  • Supporting colleagues across Finance Operations to meet daily, weekly and month‑end deadlines
What you will bring
  • Can work quickly and accurately with strong attention to detail
  • Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook and Excel)
  • Is organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Has good communication skills and is comfortable dealing with a range of stakeholders
  • Is flexible, adaptable and positive in a changing environment
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting colleagues
Your experience
  • Previous experience in a transactional or administrative role is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience of working in a busy, high‑volume environment is beneficial
  • An interest in developing a career in finance is encouraged
  • Experience of working with or supporting people with a learning disability is welcomed but not required
