Are you a hands‑on construction professional looking to step into education as a Construction Skills Instructor, delivering practical, engaging learning experiences to students aged 12–16 within an alternative provision setting where you can showcase your skills and continue your development? This supportive and forward‑thinking environment is committed to re‑engaging learners who require additional support to reach their potential. The organisation places a strong emphasis on practical, skills‑based learning, positive relationships, and preparing young people for successful progression into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
In this role, you will deliver workshop‑based construction sessions, giving learners the opportunity to develop real‑world practical skills in a safe and structured environment. You will play a key role in building confidence, improving behaviour for learning, and supporting students to develop positive work habits and aspirations. Full training and support will be provided to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification while in post.
The ideal candidate will come from a strong construction or trade background and will be confident working in a practical, hands‑on environment. While prior teaching experience is desirable, it is not essential. What is most important is your ability to engage young people, build positive relationships, and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities- Deliver practical, workshop‑based construction lessons to students aged 12–16.
- Support learners in developing core construction skills and industry awareness.

- Help prepare students for progression into apprenticeships, further education, or employment.
- Contribute to the wider development of the construction curriculum.
- Strong hands‑on experience within construction or a relevant trade.

- Teaching experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
