All Shifts

Primary Function:

Responsible, as per training administered, work related to equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting machinery and associated electrical/ electronic devices, equipment inspection/installation, and equipment system performance improvements. Performs all work in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP’S, safety standards, SOP’s and housekeeping standards, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: mechanical/ electrical facility and equipment repair , troubleshooting, analyzing circuits, wiring diagrams, schematics installation, service repair, and or replace various types of electrical and electronic devices, components, and systems on plant equipment/ machinery. Process improvements for all Red Lion Road areas, i.e., Clinical, Keystone, AZ , Novavax and all other production and non-production areas.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Have ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Be computer literate

  • Performs all work in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP’S, safety standards, SOP’s.

  • Exhibits the ability to operate all shop equipment .

  • Understand the basics of pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • Effectively read and interpret equipment mechanical and electrical/ electronic blueprints, sketches with the ability to draft updates, as needed.

  • Understand the basics of electrical/ electronic theory, including programmable logic controllers.

  • Effectively read and interpret electrical/ electronic prints.

  • Demonstrates troubleshooting expertise in electrical/ mechanical systems, pneumatics and packaging electrical/ electronic systems (as per training administered). Identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic problem solving methods.

  • Performs and identifies preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Performs major and minor equipment and facility repairs and upgrades.

  • Performs major and minor electrical distribution repairs and upgrades.

  • Performs equipment installations and assists other trades with those installations.

  • Provide guidance, assistance, and training to other maintenance mechanics in the performance of their duties.

  • Electrical/ Electronic Troubleshooting – Investigates, repairs, installs, diagnoses, and performs all necessary repairs to electrical / electronic controls and systems, located within the facility: Electrical Power Distribution Equipment, Motor/ Motor controls (AC/DC drives), temperature controls, machine controls (relay and PLC), limits / proximity / photoelectric sensing devices, etc…

  • System Integration – Assists with system and equipment integration / installations, set-ups, programming, and configuration. Assists with validation and qualification procedures: i.e. vision systems, barcode scanning equipment, etc…

  • PLC Programming – Assist in the development and debug of plc ladder logic for automated machine controls and systems.

  • Documentation Support – Maintains and updates Engineering Dept. documentation files as necessary to reflect current status / revision level of plant equipment and systems.

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

    Demonstrates ability to use various hand and power tools, shop equipment, electrical testing equipment as per training administered.

Education:

  • Satisfactory completion of a four- (4) year certified Electrical/ Electronic Technician Apprenticeship Program, which must have entailed a minimum of eight thousand- (8,000) OJT training hours and six hundred- (600) Technical Training hours.
