Senior Payroll Officer

Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten – South Yarra, Melbourne VIC

Full Time | Onsite

Join Aspire as a Senior Payroll Officer. Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten is seeking an experienced and detail‑driven Senior Payroll Officer to join our growing Head Office team in South Yarra.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing while ensuring full compliance with legislative and organisational requirements. You will also oversee Work Cover claims management and reconciliation, playing a key role in supporting our workforce and maintaining compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly and monthly payroll for 1000+ employees with accuracy and efficiency
  • Review timesheets, leave applications and payroll adjustments
  • Manage Work Cover claims, including monitoring, reconciliation and legislative compliance
  • Conduct monthly and annual reconciliations including superannuation, Work Cover, parental leave and Single Touch Payroll requirements
  • Generate weekly centre reporting for leadership and operations
  • Support the Payroll Team Leader with end‑of‑month processes and reporting
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with Fair Work and relevant legislation

About You

  • Minimum 4 years experience in end‑to‑end payroll, ideally for 1000+ employees
  • Experience using Employment Hero or a similar payroll system
  • Strong understanding of Work Cover processes and payroll compliance
  • High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Accounting experience desirable but not essential
