Research Technician III, Department of Internal Medicine (Phoenix)
A self‑motivated research technician III is needed in Dr. Christian Bime’s laboratory. The incumbent will perform a variety of laboratory tasks, including data generation, analysis, graphing, and reporting, following the instructions from the principal investigator and other senior lab personnel. The incumbent will also order and manage laboratory supplies, make detailed observations, quantitatively analyze data, interpret results, and serve as the safety coordinator for lab chemical and biological approvals.
The role requires independent work and collaboration on multiple projects.

- Perform data generation, analysis, graphing, and reporting.
- Manage laboratory supplies and safety coordination.
- Collaborate independently and with others on multiple projects.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and generate, analyze, graph, visualize, and report research data.
- Maintain laboratory supplies, logs, and record books; keep lab supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Safety coordinator for lab chemical and biological approvals.
- Maintain genetically modified mouse colonies, including rodent work and related experimentation (genotyping, dissections, injections of biological compounds, minor and major surgeries).
- Perform RNA extraction / real‑time PCR, protein extraction / Western blot and cell culture.
- Collect, prepare, and catalog tissue samples.
- Knowledge and skills: basic molecular and cell biology techniques; collect experimental data and handle animals; self‑motivated; work independently and as part of a team; analytical and problem‑solving abilities; verbal and written communication; maintain detailed experimental records; knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Medicine, or a similar field.
- Experience with molecular biology and animal work.
- College coursework or research experience in a research laboratory.
- Prior experience working with small animals.
- Experience in scope/importing imaging, cell culture, molecular biology, and histology.
