As a Lead Building Automation Field Service Technician at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of building automation systems. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting these systems to optimize building performance and occupant comfort. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our customers’ facilities and directly impact energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall building functionality.
You will report directly to the Field Service Supervisor. Must reside within 50 miles of the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
- Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to identify and implement system improvements
- Provide training and support to building operators and end‑users
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements, and provide recommendations for improvement
- May be required to work off‑hours, on weekends, and/or holidays
- Be available for on‑call rotation
- Company vehicle will be provided for travel to company sites
- Travel up to 10%
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building automation or a related field
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in building automation systems and HVAC controls
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, Niagara, Lon Works)
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships
- Associate’s degree or certification in a relevant field
- PLC experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with industry advancements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Results‑oriented approach and ability to work independently
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
