JOB TITLE: Lead Hand

Overview: As a Line Lead Hand, you will be in charge of a small group of employees. You will play an intermediate role between workers and supervisors. You will also be responsible for the smooth and safe operation of your team, helping the workers to meet goals, and mediating concerns with upper management. Other duties include:

Meeting daily quotas
Evaluating the quality of work of team members
Organizing crew tasks
Ensuring workers arrive on time for scheduled shifts
Maintaining work standards
Resolving issues between team members
Coach, mentor and train employees

You may also be required to make certain team members comply with safety regulations, identify a need for safety training, participate in accident investigations, and see to timely resolution of safety concerns.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

Experience:

Experience with labour intensive work mandatory
Experience being a team lead preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervising workers and production
Work alongside the employees and maintaining safety and production
Train new employees
Ensure working areas are clean; enforce housekeeping
Enforce Safety Requirements


Work Setting: Plastic parts divisions of companies; Plastic destruction.

Work Site Environment: DIRTY ENVIRONMENT – Required to cut used empty plastic containers. Will be working primarily with paint products and other possible residual chemicals.

Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Hand-eye co-ordination; Sitting; Combination of sitting, standing, walking

Ability to Supervise: 3-5 people

Work Location Information: Urban area

Position Requirements
High School,   Less than 1 Year work experience
Experience in a warehouse or supervisory role would be an asset but not mandatory.
Adhere to Health and Safety standards
Must be mechanically inclined and able to work with machinery
Must not be afraid to take disciplinary action
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Organized with excellent time management skills
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
