Part-Time Instructor of Emergency Medical Services
ASU‑Beebe, a two‑year residential community college in the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a part‑time Instructor of Emergency Medical Services. The instructor will oversee classroom, laboratory, and practicum instruction, assist in teaching EMT and other EMS courses, and participate in strategic planning, accreditation, and committee work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and review assigned lesson plans.
- Present lesson plans to students.
- Administer and grade tests and assignments.
- Order necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with supervisors on materials and resolve issues.
- Provide clinical supervision of student patient care.
- Assign clinical tasks based on students’ knowledge and abilities.
- Calculate and report student grades according to college policy.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum updates.
- Attend faculty and division meetings.
- Travel to other campuses and off‑site locations for teaching or meetings as needed.
- Travel to preceptor locations to conduct student audits and site visits.
Nationally registered paramedic with valid Arkansas licensure and at least two years of related experience or training.
Preferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree and the same paramedic credentials and experience requirements.
Physical Activities- Stand, walk, and sit regularly; sit frequently.
- Use hands to fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance occasionally; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
- Handle up to 25 pounds frequently; up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 100 pounds occasionally; more than 100 pounds excluded.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The position requires a standard criminal background check. Additional financial, credit, or background checks may be required for certain duties.
