About the Role
North West Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is the largest community college in Arkansas. This full‑time faculty position reports to the BCIS Division Dean and focuses primarily on teaching, with additional service and professional development duties.
ResponsibilitiesInstruction:
- Teach 15 credit hours per semester during the nine‑month employment period; schedule may be adjusted for administrative or service responsibilities.
- Prepare and conduct class instruction, evaluate learning, and create an active learning environment.
- Maintain course materials, assess learning outcomes, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators on curriculum development, standards, and textbook selection.
- Support internship and experiential learning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate academic records; assign and submit grades in compliance with FERPA and deadlines.
- Teach courses using alternative delivery methods, including evenings, weekends, and off‑campus sites.
- Attend departmental, divisional, and college‑wide meetings.
Professional Development:
- Participate in faculty evaluation processes.
- Remain current in academic discipline; attend conferences and maintain licensure and certifications.
- Receive training in technological and pedagogical advances.
Service to the College:
- Serve on standing or ad hoc committees, advisory boards, hiring committees, or faculty senate.
- Attend regional or national meetings as required or necessary for the discipline.
- Mentor new faculty and serve as a liaison for Early College Experience faculty.
- Attend commencement or other ceremonies.
- Participate in business meetings, forums, community activities, and promotion and marketing of the college and programs.
- Perform other academic duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Teaching load of 15 credit hours.
- 10 clock hours of class preparation and evaluation.
- Class‑related office hours, student development services, and three committee hours per week.
- Master’s degree or higher in Economics, or MBA with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics.
- Specialization in Economics preferred.
- Master’s or higher in another discipline with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Economics at the 3000‑level or higher.
- Knowledge of higher education academic and social program administration.
- Knowledge of campus and community resources.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and campus regulations related to academic and social programs.
- Ability to coordinate activities of campus academic and/or social programs.
- Ability to evaluate information and formulate recommendations.
- Ability to compile information into report form.

Compensation and Final date to receive applicationsRate of pay is determined by faculty scale placement, education, and years of experience.
