If you are a driver looking to establish a career with one of the top Building Supply Distributors Nationwide, then Gulfeagle has the job for you. Our drivers are responsible for safely driving the most efficient route to the job site, while observing and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations as well as company policies and procedures. They assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily and help unload materials by using crane, conveyor, piggybacks, and/or by hand.

Gulfeagle drivers are the face of our company on the job site as they lead, instruct, and supervise others. They also conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Safely drive to job sites and choose the shortest route.
  • Assist in loading and securing materials on trucks and verify quantities.
  • Unload materials using forklift, crane, conveyor or hand.
  • Secure returning loads before leaving the job site.
  • Climb a 40‑foot ladder to assist in delivering materials on roofs up to 8–12 feet high.
  • Perform daily truck inspections and complete the DOT inspection booklet.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and safety procedures.
  • Operate motorized equipment (forklift, conveyors) in accordance with state laws.
  • Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
  • Help keep warehouse, yard and trucks in a presentable state.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment such as back brace, gloves and shoes.
  • Provide customer service, assist customers with materials and report delivery issues.
Requirements
  • Valid state CDL Class A or B Driver’s License with a clean record.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Current and valid Medical Certification Card.
  • At least one year of consecutive driving experience with a CDL.
  • High degree of attention and dexterity in vehicle control.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in adverse weather.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 100 pounds for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift and climb, including on rooftops.
  • Must be able to climb a 40‑foot ladder.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Must pass company‑required drug screening and all employees are subject to random drug testing.

Preferred
  • Previous material handling experience.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Certified to operate a crane.
Job Qualifications

Drivers must possess the following qualifications, or their equivalent as determined by the Branch and Warehouse Manager.

  • Education, experience and licensing:
    Valid state CDL Class A or B with a clean record; less than three points or one violation; no DUI/DWI within the last 3 years; no revocation or suspension.
  • Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish.
  • Knowledge of roofing material or construction and distribution.
  • One year of driving experience.
  • Skills and abilities:

    understand and carry out oral and written directions; bend, reach, lift and climb; lift up to 100 pounds for up to two hours; work at multiple stories; work in all weather; maintain vehicle control; maintain loyalty to the company; interact with the public courteously; perform all duties safely; meet DOT physical and medical requirements; pass substance abuse screening.
