Job Description

Ferguson Electric’s Highway Division is seeking a full‑time Assistant Project Manager to support Heavy Highway Project Managers both in the office and on job sites to ensure projects are properly coordinated, scheduled, and documented. This role is responsible for maintaining communication between vendors, subcontractors, clients, and field personnel while assisting with project administration and construction coordination. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and Project Foremen to help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with all contract requirements.

We are seeking motivated candidates with a strong interest in the electrical heavy highway construction industry who are looking to grow their career with a well‑established company.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and related correspondence
  • Maintain communication with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track and maintain RFI and submittal logs while providing regular status updates to Project Managers
  • Assist Project Managers with coordinating construction schedules, manpower, and project activities
  • Work with Project Foremen to monitor daily reports and track construction progress
  • Support project closeout activities, including scheduling, startup, and training coordination
  • Assist in ensuring all work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and contract requirements
Qualifications
  • College graduate with coursework in Construction Management preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or electrical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Familiarity with project specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, O&M manuals, and the submittal process
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-up abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine interest in the electrical heavy highway construction industry and career growth opportunities
