Systems Engineer, Cybersecurity
Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provides support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in IT‑related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 5 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in IT‑related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 3 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience.
The position requires experience with:
Experience with Network administration and architecture;
In‑depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g BGP, EIGRP);
Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl);
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN);
Configure and install routers, switches and other network devices;
Experience with access control models and network security;
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools;
Experience with network operating systems (Cisco IOS, IOS‑XE). A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. This position will be hybrid in Plano, TX and candidates must live withina 50‑mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a Fed Ex office location up to several times per week.
