Nurse Practitioner, Neurosurgery/Neuro IR

Work location:

Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas, 75096

Work Hours:

PRN, 6:00am – 4:00pm

Neuro Department Highlights
  • Fellowship trained Neurosurgeons and Neuro Interventional Radiologists
  • Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • 24 bed ICU and dedicated Neuro unit
  • Neuro Trauma, Elective Spine, Neuro Interventional Radiology and Brain Surgical cases
Here’s What You Need
  • Master’s Degree Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program required
  • 1 year of experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Acute Care certification highly preferred
  • 1 year experience in Neuro preferred
  • NP – Nurse Practitioner upon hire required
Here’s What You Will Do
  • Perform history and physical exams on new and established patients and those being seen for follow up appointments. Consult with the supervising physician as needed
  • Provide follow up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols or specific instructions from the supervising physician
  • Initiate appropriate treatment and testing required for evaluation of illness based on training and experience
  • Provide counseling and instruction to patients regarding health related issues
  • Document clinical care of the patient according to established guidelines
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by training and experience and as directed by the supervising physician
  • Communicate with patients and family members within state law confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines concerning health related questions
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement process and other initiatives in the area of employees practice
