Customer Support Technician (Golf Carts)
Job Summary
We're seeking a Customer Support Technician to provide exceptional technical support for our golf cart customers. In this role, you will diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, communicate clearly with customers, and document service activity accurately. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-minded, and comfortable using diagnostic software and basic computer tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and in person as needed
- Troubleshoot and diagnose golf cart issues, including electrical systems (batteries, controllers, wiring) and mechanical components
- Explain technical problems and solutions in clear, customer-friendly language; set expectations and maintain a professional, empathetic approach
- Use diagnostic software/tools to identify error codes, tune performance settings, and verify repairs
- Read and follow technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and safety protocols
- Document troubleshooting steps, service reports, and maintenance records accurately and promptly
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience (voltage, amperage, circuit testing, and safe diagnostic practices)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools for repairs and routine service
- Proficiency in English (reading technical documentation and writing clear service notes)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to remain calm and professional during troubleshooting
- Basic computer skills (using a laptop/tablet, navigating service databases, and entering accurate records)
- Experience using vehicle or golf cart diagnostic software to read error codes and adjust performance settings
- Familiarity with controllers, battery management systems, and electronic components common to electric golf carts
- Comfort working with digital tools such as service ticketing systems, spreadsheets, or manufacturer portals
Physical Requirements
- This role involves hands-on work around vehicles and equipment, including diagnosing issues and performing repairs on suspension, brakes, steering, and drivetrain components.
- Candidates should be able to work safely in a shop environment, use tools and diagnostic devices, and handle typical physical demands such as standing, bending, and lifting parts/equipment as needed.
