Fabrication Laser Operator

This position is responsible for performing laser operations and activities involved in the production of equipment that is manufactured at JCB North America.

• Perform typical laser cutting operations
• Select proper cutting programs and proper fixtures
• Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point
• Make proper set‑ups for cutting operations, perform machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance, including tape shots and lens maintenance
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area according to company standards and manufacturer recommendations
• Perform all dimensional inspections
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Team Lead and/or Group Lead
• Chart machine performance and administer routine checks/maintenance
• Prepare raw materials for production
• Apply problem solving tools and techniques to assist fabrication in the elimination of defects
• May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require

• High school diploma
• Certificate in laser technology from an accredited technical or training school
• 2 years of laser operator experience
• Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and pre‑employment screenings

• Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 1–50 lbs. frequently
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Multitask while maintaining a sense of urgency
• Flexibility with work activities
• Ability to operate bending presses, lasers and various hand tools
• Must wear personal protective equipment as required

• Manufacturing/factory environment
• Subject to noise and temperature changes

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12‑hour shifts / 7 days a week

• Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities, including fine movements or large motions
• Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist
• Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed
• Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force
• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work in multiple climates, including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment
