Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.

The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self‑perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be a key member of a high-performance team, dedicated to responding to emergencies promptly and professionally, minimizing risks to life, property, and the environment. As part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), you will play a crucial role in enhancing the project's safety and emergency preparedness. Your leadership will drive the implementation of emergency prevention strategies and workforce education initiatives, ensuring that ERT & ESH performance expectations are not only met but continuously improved.

Responsibilities:
  • Emergency Response: Respond to various emergency incidents, including fires, equipment and machinery incidents, rescues/entrapments, technical rescues, and hazardous material situations.
  • Vehicle and Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively operate emergency response vehicles and equipment, including driving rescue apparatus and other emergency vehicles under diverse conditions.
  • Medical Support: Provide first aid and resuscitation as needed during emergency situations.
  • Operational Readiness: Ensure ERT equipment, resources, and facilities are always in a state of operational readiness through regular maintenance and checks.
  • Skill Acquisition and Maintenance: Participate in tactical, operational, and technical functions, acquiring and maintaining relevant skills through professional development programs.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Professional Integrity: Perform all duties with the highest level of personal integrity and professionalism, as outlined in the Bechtel Code of Conduct and other Codes of Practice.
  • Team Contribution: Actively contribute to all project ERT activities, fostering a productive work environment through a positive team approach.
  • ESH Integration: Oversee and ensure that ESH requirements are correctly interpreted and integrated into project processes, planning, procedures, and training across all ESH disciplines, including ERT and Medical.
  • Competency Development: Develop and maintain the competencies required by the project, actively seeking opportunities for self‑development through relevant training programs.
  • Practical Application: Apply acquired skills and knowledge in a variety of functions, including research, risk reduction, readiness, response, and recovery.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate within the workplace, with other emergency response personnel, and with various stakeholders to ensure clear and appropriate information flow.
  • Incident Prevention and Safety Awareness: Promote workforce awareness of incident prevention by supporting and participating in education programs and activities. Assist with property inspections, building safety checks, and the development of evacuation plans and emergency response procedures.
