As a Sr. Environmental Engineer, you will ensure the refinery complies with the EPA, TCEQ, and other agency environmental rules and regulations.

• Complete reports for state and federal regulatory agencies, and maintain the appropriate documentation.
• Perform emissions inventory, greenhouse gas, and TRI calculations and compile data for reporting purposes.
• Integrate with operational teams and periodically review monthly reports detailing compliance overview and highlighting environmental areas of focus.
• Review requirements stipulated in NSR permits as well as NSPS and MACT regulations and assess compliance by reviewing site data and documentation.
• Conduct monthly plant inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Communicate the refinery’s positions effectively and clearly with regulatory agencies, corporate management, and civic organizations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and proposed environmental regulations.
• Possess technical capabilities and be able to perform air emissions calculations.
• Utilize various computer applications such as Microsoft Excel to maintain emissions inventory estimate databases.

• Able and willing to work on-site, in person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
• Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Engineering or a related Science required.
• 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience required.

• Master’s or higher-level degree in Engineering preferred.

All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). Employees are required to wear this card at all times while working at the refinery.
