Port Huron, MI 48060 | Shift: Day Shift

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping / Receiving Clerk to join our day shift operation in Port Huron, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, on-time delivery, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining organized inventory records.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with team on a daily basis to ensure no customer shipments are missed and all incoming shipments are accurate.
  • Work with plant Supervisors to ensure product is available prior to each outgoing shipment.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents and labels.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Conduct regular product cycle counts on finished goods and raw components.
  • Pull and stage product for outgoing shipments.
  • Create all shipping paperwork, including shippers, customs invoice paperwork, etc., and verify accuracy prior to shipment.
  • Send Advance Shipping Notices (ASN's) and verify they were sent.
  • Verify weekly sales log against shippers.
  • Upload customer EDI data into the specified data and review requirements for changes.
  • Set up and coordinate freight for delivery to customers and other sources (including Fed Ex, UPS, DHL).
  • Conduct and respond to customer MP&L system checks.
  • Ensure the FIFO process is maintained through the receiving process.
  • Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA's) and close out assigned open issues.
  • Conduct Safety Audits and close out assigned open issues.
  • Use Hi Lo / Forklift and Tugger to move inventory and load/unload trucks throughout the day.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to management promptly.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, endurance and stress resistance.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to manage and resolve issues.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy 50+ pound items as needed.
  • Strong computer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
