Position

Description:

Prepare detailed estimates for the project based on the construction drawings and specifications. Communicate bids and scopes of work.

Reports to:

Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator, or Preconstruction Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities *:
In the areas assigned:

* Develop detailed estimates from concept through GMP

* Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities

* Collaborate with design teams and key stakeholders

* Present estimates and assumptions to internal and external stakeholders

* Supervise Assistant Estimators and Estimating Interns as assigned

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of construction estimating experience, or combination of education, training, or experience

* Understanding of major building systems

* Design-build experience a plus

* Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule

* Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents

* Conceptual ability, able to work with minimum information and quickly develop understanding of owner/architect requirements

* Project management of competing demands, and meet established deadlines

* Professional verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, and familiar with estimating software
