What’s the Opportunity?

Support our growing industrial compliance practice by helping develop, implement, and review regulatory compliance programs for industrial and port facilities. The position supports air quality compliance (e.g., Clean Air Act permitting), wastewater and stormwater compliance (e.g., NPDES permits), waste management compliance (e.g., RCRA regulations), and environmental program development (e.g., training and management systems). The successful candidate will also assist with regulatory interpretation, permitting, and agency interactions.

Responsibilities
  • NPDES permit compliance support (wastewater and stormwater), including reviewing/developing SWPPPs/SWPCPs and BMPs, monitoring data review and DMR submittal
  • Pre-treatment permits and wastewater authorizations to city sewer
  • Air quality/CAA compliance evaluations and permitting support (Title V, NSR, PSD, minor source, and NESHAP/MACT), including preparation of air permit applications and permit modifications
  • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management compliance under RCRA and applicable state regulations, including waste characterization, storage, labeling, disposal practices, review of manifests/e-manifests, and support for contingency plans, training, and reporting

You will coordinate closely with project managers and industrial clients and engage with regulatory agencies as needed. You will serve as a technical lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality environmental documentation and practical compliance strategies. The role also includes developing project scopes, contributing to proposals, and supporting business development efforts.

The Environmental Compliance Specialist role involves providing technical and regulatory expertise to help our clients comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Key responsibilities include conducting environmental compliance audits, regulatory assessments, permitting support, and developing and assessing environmental management programs across air, water, waste, and chemical regulatory areas.

What Are We Looking For?
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, minimum of five years of experience in environmental compliance, and strong knowledge of regulations like CAA, CWA, and RCRA.
  • Preferred:
    Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing operations, state regulatory programs, and professional certifications.
  • Key skills: regulatory interpretation, compliance auditing, permitting, technical writing, and project management.
  • Other regulatory compliance knowledge, including SPCC, FIFRA, DOT, SARA 311/312/313, and TSCA, is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Both office‑based work and site visits at industrial and manufacturing locations.
  • Detail oriented with meticulous site visit note taking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

  • Salary Range: $89,610–$100,811
