Desktop Support Specialist

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Desktop Support Specialist for our client, a fully accredited laboratory specializing in a range of health-related testing services. This is a contract position based onsite in Portland, OR.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable Desktop Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical assistance in a general office environment. This role is responsible for maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring employees have the tools they need to work efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other office equipment
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and updates
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner
• Assist users with login issues, password resets, and system access
• Set up and deploy new workstations and user accounts
• Maintain documentation of support activities and system configurations
• Collaborate with IT team members to resolve more complex technical problems

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS environments
• Familiarity with common office software and tools
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide support in a fast-paced office setting

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This contract position offers an hourly rate of $20-25/HR, commensurate with experience. We offer a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
