We’re seeking Transportation/Traffic Engineers who bring understanding of safety principles and infrastructure design, and who thrive in collaborative, mission-driven environments.
- Contribute to a wide range of engineering and planning services, including crash analyses, program management, and design reviews, from Concept Development through Final Design.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to shape safer, more inclusive transportation networks.
- Be part of a forward-thinking agency committed to innovation, sustainability, and equity in transportation.
- Serve as in-house augmentation staff providing guidance on State, county, and municipal projects.
- Conduct crash analyses and develop data-driven safety recommendations.
- Support and manage safety-focused programs and initiatives.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination.
- Develop safety targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and summary reports.
- Contribute to Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) activities and implementation.
Review Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) assessments and performance plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of transportation/traffic engineering design experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Preferred certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Planner (AICP), Road Safety Professional (RSP). - Experience with NJDOT Roadway Design Guide, MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book.
- Experience with NJDOT Complete Streets Policy, Safe System Approach/Vision Zero concepts, Highway Safety Manual (HSM), PROWAG/ADA Standards, NJDOT HSIP and/or SHSP publications, and NACTO publications.
TYLin is committed to pay equity. The base compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $105,000 annually for the local market.
