Key Responsibilities
- Support production and maintenance operations within a highly automated manufacturing plant
- Design, develop, and implement control systems (hardware and software) to improve production efficiency, product quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, reduce downtime, and enhance overall process automation
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of plant process control systems and their impact across the production line
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human-machine interface (HMI) systems
- Recommend and implement improvements to optimize production processes and equipment reliability
- Design and monitor performance indicators and integrate control systems with company information systems
- Provide ongoing maintenance support and resolve process control system issues, taking ownership through final resolution
- Develop requirement specifications, high-level system designs, and architecture documentation related to production control systems
- Support and manage automation and controls-related projects
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automated Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant automation or controls engineering experience in an industrial environment
- Experience working with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Modicon, or similar systems, as well as variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Project, and Power Point
- Proven teamwork, communication (written and verbal), organizational, and administrative skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Must be available to be on call and assist personnel during emergencies or critical business needs
