Mind Institute, an independent, state-of-the-art special needs center in Qatar is seeking Occupational Therapist Consultant to join its growing multidisciplinary team. Founded in 2016, Mind Institute quickly became the first and only private special needs center in Qatar to be licensed by Qatar’s Ministry of Health meeting its NHS2030 rigorous guidelines, scoring 96%. As Occupational Therapist consultant you will ensure that a professional and high-quality occupational therapy service is delivered to children, adolescents, adults and their families. You will assess and treat your own complex caseload of patients/clients in a variety of settings. You will act as clinical lead for specialist services. You will be responsible for clinical governance, policy, service development; providing expert advice on OT practice within the center and other community settings, including schools. You will act as a resource for a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and special educators with regards to highly specialized pediatric therapy plan. You will act as a main resource to maintain and develop sensory integration treatment, feeding therapy, handwriting, motor skills, music and dance in a clinic-based therapy setting, school setting and Early Intervention.


Duties & Responsibilities
• Act as a role model and resource for all clinical and administrative aspects of the job.
• Assess and develop interventions and monitoring needs for a range of highly complex conditions within the specialist area extending clinical governance and expert advice in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Responsible for specialist training, teaching or devising of training and development programs. Manage and train less experienced staff and other healthcare professionals and helpers within the center.
• Implement and suggest changes to policies and protocols relating to delivery of occupational therapy and other disciplines.
• Autonomously manage a complex caseload.
• Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessment of clients with complex needs.
• Formulate and provide a broad range of specialist treatment programs and interventions to a diverse and highly complex pediatric caseload.
• Responsible for clinical leadership within the field of pediatric occupational therapy and in coordination with other departments; Speech and Language, Psychology, Physical Therapy, Sensory Integration, ABA and Early Intervention.
• Maintain up to date clinical records.
• Deliver group and individual therapy sessions.
• Review client medical charts and understand test results, therapy evaluations, pre-existing conditions.
• Interact clearly and professionally with clients and families, while gathering additional clinical information and history.
• Assist in intake and admissions to therapy, in accordance with center policies and procedures.
• Provide client updates to relevant persons/departments.
• Develop educational and community plans in consultation with Director, Center manager and Intake coordinator.
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Function as a resource for clinicians, healthcare providers and special educators. Provide team members with in-service/cross-training on a multi-disciplinary therapy plan, diagnostic case mix management, coding, etc., as applicable
• Participate in Clinical Program Development as needed.  

Requirements:
• Clinical Lead or Clinical Director for 2 years.  
• Master’s degree.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Leadership/managerial experience
• Valid license.
• Experience in Sensory Integration, ASD, NDT and CBT.

Compensation:
• $62,400- $82,200 per year TAX FREE
