Schedule36 hrs/week, day/night rotation, rotating weekends and holidays.
Unit DescriptionA7 is a 30‑bed med‑surg unit providing care for intermediate‑level medical‑surgical telemetry patients. The patient population includes general surgery, orthopedics, vascular medicine, neurology, oncology and complex medicine patients. CMP 7 is certified as a primary stroke unit.
Position SummaryAs an RN in the Medical Surgical unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient‑centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), with ability to obtain BSN within 4 years - 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Experience with electronic health record preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range$39.02 – $90.05 per hour. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. Base pay is determined by a comprehensive approach including education, experience, licensure and certifications directly related to position requirements.
