Our client, an industrial manufacturer, is looking for an Embedded Software & Systems Integration Engineering Manager to join their engineering team in Mount Pleasant, WI. They have evolved over the last few years from being just a hardware company to becoming a more software-driven manufacturer. Given this expansion, they have created this leadership position to add more infrastructure within their Programming Team (5).
In this role, you will lead the planning and delivery of embedded hardware and software initiatives across their electro-hydraulic product line. Your time will be balanced across key areas, including 30% focused on project management, 20% on technical oversight, 30% on testing and validation, and 20% on team leadership and development. Their applications are used within a recession-proof industry and because they’ve prioritized automation over the last two years, they have doubled their results.

- Lead the development of embedded software, vision systems, and related hardware
- Oversee Programming Team (5) and the delivery of their embedded systems projects
- Establish clear performance goals, mentor engineering team, and provide feedback
- Manage project timelines, scope, resource planning, and change management
- Partner with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless system performance
- Create and implement best practices for embedded software development
- Develop and enforce a structured testing and release strategy
- Define test cases, performance benchmarks, and failure criteria for validation processes
- Implement a revision control system for software releases to support field reliability
- Recommend technologies that enhance product safety and automation
- Encourage a culture of responsibility, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Strong background within systems engineering/systems integration required
- Project leadership experience within manufacturing required
- Experience integrating software and hardware projects required
- Hands-on coding (any language) experience is required
