Position Summary
CGI Federal is looking for a Sr. Windows Administrator to support the Army's PL ALTESS contract. ALTESS is a key U.S. Army organization providing IT services and support. This position is located in Radford, VA.
Responsibilities- Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers for a mixed Windows 2019 and Windows 2022 environment.
- Collaborate with the existing Windows team to plan, execute, and implement new system hardware and software, and create and maintain technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies.
- Monitor and tune system performance, perform ongoing operation of the servers, harden servers, and report overall security and operational status.
- Recommend improvements to the enterprise and manage new software/hardware integrations when required.
- Provide utilization reports using existing tools to identify problems and corrective actions.
- Support the lifecycle of a mixed environment of vendor equipment in the datacenter, including firmware version control and periodic preventive maintenance.
- Recommend, demonstrate, and implement technologies to expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies.
- Provide excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- CompTIA Security+.
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, Red Hat, Palo). Certification can be waived for 30 days after project join date.
- Experience in Computer Science or IT.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Five or more years’ experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or Engineer with three or more years of automation using Power Shell.
- Five or more years’ experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications and websites (IIS, Apache, etc.).
- Five or more years’ experience working in an environment with complex networking solutions and senior-level knowledge in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP.
- Five or more years’ experience managing enterprise-level Active Directory Structures.
- Five or more years’ experience creating and maintaining complex MS Group Policy implementations.
- Five or more years’ experience creating, maintaining, following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience.
- Three or more years’ experience supporting Cybersecurity patch management and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), SRG, RMF, SCA-V, and Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA).
