Job Description

We are searching for the best talent for a Technical Product Manager, Med Tech Technology, Product Lifecycle Management, Data & Integration to be located in Raritan, NJ. The individual will lead a team of engineers in driving the creation, execution, and management of source-to-target mappings, implementing business rules and data transformations & integrations (including normalization/standardization) within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework.

This role emphasizes maintaining data integrity and quality during design, migration, and configuration to meet the goals of the Med Tech PLM product group.

The role collaborates with key business subject matter experts (SMEs) to refine data strategies and advance the digital roadmap. It facilitates continuous improvements in data engineering processes while engaging closely with PLM solution architects and contributing to the Med Tech R&D digital transformation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain data standards, metadata, and master data models to ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance.
    • Lead the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development.
    • Own PLM data transformations across upstream/downstream systems (e.g., ERP/MES/QMS/DWH) including source‑to‑target mapping, business rule implementation, normalization/standardization, validation, reconciliation controls, performance tuning, and monitoring/alerting to ensure end‑to‑end data quality.
    • Execute the data migration ETL and planned rehearsals to support the MT PLM deployment roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain integration standards to ensure consistency, standardization, and simplification.
    • Lead the design and implementation of integration architectures across PLM, QMS, ERP, Regulatory, and other core systems.
    • Drive adoption of modern integration patterns (APIs, events, middleware, data pipelines) for real‑time and scalable data exchange.
    • Ensure interoperability of systems to support end‑to‑end product lifecycle processes and regulatory traceability.
  • Execute with operational excellence.
    • Ensure code quality, documentation, and adherence to Johnson & Johnson standards.
    • Mentor and coach team members through code reviews.
    • Oversee technical deliverables from external vendors.
    • Manage codebase deployment from development through QA to production.
    • Enhance operational efficiency with automation tools and scripts for data migration.
    • Support the Technical Product Owner and Product Analyst in defining user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Provide input on resource allocation and assist onboarding of new squad engineers.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership building.
    • Collaborate with business PLM SMEs and Windchill Solution Architects on data & integration needs.
    • Collaborate with architecture chapter on standards adherence and business‑based input.
    • Work with other Lead Engineers/squads to manage risks and resolve cross‑squad dependencies and impediments.
    • Guide squad engineers in building and maintaining software solutions for data & integration needs.
    • Develop capabilities in integration engineering, data architecture, and lifecycle data management with cross‑functional teams.
    • Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals.
Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5‑7 years of relevant experience in software development, data engineering, or a related technical domain.

Skills

  • Demonstrable experience leading teams of employees and/or contractors.
  • Experience leading multiple global efforts with time & cost constraints in a regulated environment.
  • Proven leadership of technical teams and project management.
  • Integration technologies (APIs, middleware, event‑driven architectures).
    Proficiency in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data engineering concepts, and data migration strategies.
