Job Overview
Amazon Robotics is seeking an Applied Scientist in Neurosymbolic AI to innovate at the intersection of classical AI reasoning and large language models (LLMs). The role involves building AI reasoning systems that provide provably correct answers, advancing research in the field, and applying these technologies to improve operations for customers across robotics, automation, and fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with scientists and engineers as part of Amazon’s diverse global science community.
- Publish research in top-tier academic venues and present findings.
- Invent and develop new techniques in neuroscience-inspired AI and LLM integration.
- Generate plans using language models and verify plan correctness through AI reasoning.
- Learn efficient reasoning strategies and develop self‑improving models.
- Translate research insights into scalable AI systems for business problems in operations.
You will meet regularly with your technical lead and peers to discuss ideas, receive guidance, and iterate on architectures and algorithms. You will author papers, build AI systems, and work with engineers to implement solutions at scale.
About the TeamThe Veritas team operates at the boundary between language models and classical AI reasoning, tackling customer problems in fulfillment, automation, and robotics with a focus on high‑quality, application‑driven research.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications.
- PhD or Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or related programming languages.
- Experience with neural deep‑learning methods and machine learning.
- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit‑learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensor Flow, Num Py, Sci Py, etc.
- Experience with large‑scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.

Base salary range: USD 167,100 – 226,100 per annum (USA, MA, Boston).
