Buying & Supplier Manager II, Robotics Supply Chain - Procurement
Job : | Services LLC
Amazon Robotics (AR) is a smart team that applies innovative advances in robotics and software to transform customer experiences. The Robotics Supply Chain organization sources and delivers robotics technology worldwide, ensuring timely, quality, and cost‑effective material supply to our global fulfillment and transportation network.
The Buying & Supplier Manager will manage timely material delivery to AR sites, mitigate supply risks, manage supplier performance, execute purchase orders, and resolve escalations. The role also leads deployment of procurement tools and systems, enhancing efficiency, visibility, and accountability across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities- Own various aspects of supply chain management from ordering, assessing supplier capacities and delivery risks, to resolving delivery challenges and communicating risks to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Act as the escalation point for materials and service delivery risks with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Proactively identify supply chain risks, implement mitigation strategies, and communicate potential disruptions to maintain business continuity.
- Drive supply chain delivery performance by owning key metrics, addressing constraints, and influencing stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed on‑time and receive delivery commitments from the supply base.
- Identify and implement tools and systems to optimize procurement processes.
- Improve processes and mechanisms to optimize resources and value delivery for the Robotics organization.
Your morning begins by reviewing supply risk dashboards and delivery status updates for robotics components. When you spot a potential delay, you quickly coordinate with a supplier’s operational team to secure an expedited delivery plan. Throughout the day you monitor supply chain risks, manage direct shipments, and collaborate with engineering, operations, and logistics teams. When a materials shortage threatens a site launch, you bring stakeholders together to identify alternatives and negotiate backup capacity.
You also automate tactical procurement tasks to focus on monitoring at‑risk items and developing proactive mitigation strategies. Over time you transition from hands‑on execution to strategic oversight, collaborating with suppliers and executives on preventive solutions and building sustainable supply chain frameworks.
