  • Proven ability to solve complex marine systems engineering problems, including trade‑off analysis and design trade studies.
  • Experience in marine or naval systems engineering, ideally on warship or submarine design studies (especially surface combatants).
  • Experience of working on naval ship studies and design activity during ship acquisition, translating customer ideas and capability requirements into design solutions and exploiting Defence Standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Marine Systems Engineer within Defence or complex system environments with a strong understanding of marine systems engineering principles and lifecycle models (e.g. V‑model, Agile, hybrid approaches).
  • Experience of working with stakeholders to determine their needs and generate the highest level of system requirements, based on the users' needs and other constraints.
  • Ability, experience and proof of producing high‑quality, well‑structured and logically written reports within tight timescales that clearly communicate an understanding of the task, the work carried out, conclusions and recommendations to the sponsor.
Benefits
  • Competitive package, free single medical cover and digital GP service, family‑friendly benefits such as enhanced parental leave pay and free membership of employee assistance and parental programmes, and reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships.
