Chemistry Instructor (primarily biochemistry/organic chemistry) – Continuous Appointment (Probationary)

Position Title:

Chemistry Instructor (primarily biochemistry/organic chemistry) – Continuous Appointment (Probationary)

Position Type:
Full‑Time Probationary Continuous Instructor at the School of Trades and Technology, Red Deer Polytechnic.

Teach:
Organic Chemistry I & II, Biochemistry I, and General Chemistry I & II (primarily within the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and the University Sciences diploma programs).

• Deliver courses in line with established curricula and program outcomes.
• Support students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles.
• Assess student learning in ways that facilitate learning and ensure achievement of academic standards.
• Inspire students through enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material.
• Contribute to course and program curriculum development and renewal.
• Engage in scholarly activity within scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching.
• Work collegially within departmental, school, or institutional committees and project teams.

• Master’s degree in Biochemistry or related field, or Master’s in Chemistry with graduate‑level coursework or experience in biochemistry and organic chemistry.
• Preferred:
  PhD in Biochemistry or related field.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and general chemistry at the undergraduate level.
