Position Title:
Chemistry Instructor (primarily biochemistry/organic chemistry) – Continuous Appointment (Probationary)
Position Type:
Full‑Time Probationary Continuous Instructor at the School of Trades and Technology, Red Deer Polytechnic.
Teach:
Organic Chemistry I & II, Biochemistry I, and General Chemistry I & II (primarily within the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and the University Sciences diploma programs).
- Deliver courses in line with established curricula and program outcomes.
- Support students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles.
- Assess student learning in ways that facilitate learning and ensure achievement of academic standards.
- Inspire students through enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material.
- Contribute to course and program curriculum development and renewal.
- Engage in scholarly activity within scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching.
- Work collegially within departmental, school, or institutional committees and project teams.
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry or related field, or Master’s in Chemistry with graduate‑level coursework or experience in biochemistry and organic chemistry.
- Preferred:
PhD in Biochemistry or related field. - Post‑secondary teaching experience in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and general chemistry at the undergraduate level.
