About the role Background and details:We’re excited to be recruiting for a Machine Customisation Engineer to join our busy and growing team at our Redditch workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality, tailored machinery solutions to our customers.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out detailed customisation work in line with specific customer requirements, ensuring every machine meets exact specifications. You’ll also prepare new machines for customer delivery, making sure all work is completed to the highest standard and within agreed deadlines.
Reporting to the Workshop PDI Service Supervisor, this position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and thrives in a practical, fast-paced workshop environment.
Duties and responsibilities:- Assemble machines delivered in kit form.
- Complete pre-delivery inspection.
- Carry out customisation of new machines to Customer’s specifications.
- Body work touch-up to Manufacturer’s specifications.
- Troubleshoot and fault find any defects on machines resolving issues or escalating where required.
- Carry out repairs as and when found, replacing parts where necessary.
- Installation and Calibration of Guidance systems to various Komatsu models.
- Complete any pending F.C work.
- Set up attachment pressures.
- Knowledge of manual handling and auto-electrics
- Experience with Welding and oxy-acetylene equipment
- Working knowledge of lathes, angle grinders and pillar drills
- Basic Safety training
- Excellent attention to detail and communication
- The ability to work well with others and remain calm when under pressure
- Strong team player, positive attitude and ability to work to deadlines
- Counterbalance Forklift truck licence - desirable
- SPA or CSCS training - desirable
