Act as Electrical Engineering lead technician with oversight of the Electrical Engineering Labs. Supervise a team of technicians on a daily basis, allocating assignments, setting priorities, ensuring timely task completion. Oversee the lab processes and equipment. Suggest and implement process improvements. Provide input to management on long range plans, budgeting, lab capabilities and equipment needs.


* work with product development teams executing and coordinating engineering lab activities over the entire product development cycle
* support the engineering team with concept development, prototyping, execution, implementation and fielded product support of the electrical designs
* collaborate with the engineering teams to ensure proper creation, evaluation, and test of our products
* debug systems, identifying potential issues
* execute formal engineering tests and create supporting documentation
* work with engineers in evaluating and improving designs or processes
* ensure compliance of work processes, material handling, safety procedures and calibration of equipment within the lab
* ensure lab equipment is properly handled and maintained
* manage lab workload, priorities and scheduling
* give direction and training to lab personnel
* maintain a safe working environment.
* perform other related duties as assigned.


* Technical Associate Degree or equivalent experience in applicable discipline such as Electrical Engineering/Electronic Technology
* At least 10 years of applicable technical experience
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
* People Management/People Leadership experience


* Exposure to complex projects and multiple priorities
* Experience working in a product development environment, medical device experience is a plus
* Perform rework on board and component level showing knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-620.
* Ability to solder small components, such as 0201 SMT and fine pitch (0.3 mm) parts.
* Strong attention to detail and task organizational skills.
* Current IPC and ETA certificate(s).
* Ability to understand the use, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical engineering laboratory equipment.
* Ability to build and test mechanical fixture and cables, electrical circuits and assemblies, update/program software, and/or perform basic test and analyses requiring knowledge of scientific and/or engineering laboratory techniques.


* May be requested to lift and move engineering lab equipment
* Some exposure to hazardous materials; requires use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
* Requires use of computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse
