DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES- Checks consumer-facing documents and in‑game text and voice for context, grammar, spelling, possible trademark issues, and overall presentation to ensure text quality meets Nintendo standards.
- Leverages language and cultural expertise when reviewing text, to ensure that the resulting experience resonates with the user and reflects the intent of the developer.
- Uses testing toolset to report bugs and confirm fixes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provides feedback to leadership to inform project test plans, tool usage, and features for current and future work.
- Works regularly with translation and writing staff to monitor progress and address text issues with the shared goal of improving testing quality and procedure.
- Processes work for multiple testing projects and provides respective project communications to consistently meet deadlines.
- 1‑3 years of proofreading experience in a high‑volume, deadline‑oriented setting in Quality Assurance industry.
- Advanced level proficiency and formal or professional experience writing/editing in Brazilian Portuguese language.
- Experience in publishing and/or editing in Brazilian Portuguese.
- Ability to identify possible culturalization issues and propose possible solutions.
- Strong familiarity with Nintendo franchises and awareness of industry trends, especially in target market.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at any given time.
- Undergraduate degree in target language or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
This position is onsite in Redmond, WA. Onsite positions require onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi‑annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Pay Range: $28.94 — $46.30 USD.
