Our client, a leading research organization specializing in virtual and augmented reality technology, is seeking a Research Scientist IV to join their innovative team. As a Research Scientist IV/ Applied Perception Scientist, you will be part of the Reality Labs Research department supporting the Audio team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range & Contract

$70-$75 per hour. Contract length: 12 months with possible extension.

What's the Job?
  • Oversee and drive research projects on speech quality, analyzing results and reporting findings.
  • Monitor issues, facilitate resolutions, and proactively keep projects on schedule.
  • Implement and conduct pilot listening tests and other perceptual experiences.
  • Regularly report on project progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Support research scientists and engineers within the team to achieve project goals.
What's Needed?
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with research related to speech perception, hearing sciences, or auditory perception in academic or industrial settings.
  • Experience with data collection involving human participants and working in fast-paced research environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tonal languages.
  • PhD degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AI generative speech.
  • Experience with modeling audio quality.
