This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer seeking to build a strong foundation in applied geotechnical engineering within a collaborative, growth-oriented firm.
Duties:
- Field Investigation & Sampling:
Oversee, conduct and observe geotechnical borings, test pits, and CPT investigations; - Log soil and rock samples using USCS and ASTM methods;
- Coordinate safely with drill crews on site.
- Oversee and/or Perform Atterberg limits,
- Sieve analysis, compaction, consolidation, and permeability testing; compile, QC, and interpret field and laboratory data;
- Develop subsurface profiles and cross- sections.
- Develop bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and liquefaction analyses; support foundation and pavement design using software such as gINT, SLOPE/W, and SETTLE

- Draft boring logs, figures, cross-sections, and tables;
- prepare full geotechnical investigation reports, compaction reports, and construction observation summaries under direction of senior staff.
- Perform field observation and materials testing during earthwork and foundation activities;
- Monitor compaction and field acceptance criteria; prepare daily field reports and document contractor compliance.
- Required:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (geotechnical focus preferred); - 1-3 years of geotechnical experience.
- Preferred: M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering;
Experience in geotechnical or civil engineering. - Licensure:
Current PE license in Nevada or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire.
- Soil mechanics and foundation engineering fundamentals;
- Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO test standards; proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Experience with gINT, AutoCAD, or GIS a plus.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, traverse uneven terrain.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Professional Engineering license required or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire
- OSHA 30, NAQTC Materials Testing is preferred.
