Block Island School (K-12, approximately 125 students) seeks a 0.6 social studies teacher to teach grades 5‑7. Candidate must hold or be eligible for appropriate Rhode Island middle school certification.
Welcome to Block Island SchoolBlock Island is a small island located approximately 12 miles off the southern coast of Rhode Island. Block Island School houses grades K‑12 and has a student population of approximately 123 students. The island is accessible by boat or plane, and full‑time employees must live on the island during the school year because of the limited ferry schedule.
Job Requirements- Must live on Block Island during the school year because the ferry schedule does not coordinate with the school day.
- Travel between the island and mainland is subject to cancellation due to weather.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
