BIM Technician

Mott Mac Donald Bentley, a joint venture between the global consulting firm Mott Mac Donald and the civil engineering contractor JN Bentley, is seeking a BIM Technician to support major water and wastewater schemes across the UK. This role will be involved in all stages from feasibility through to construction, delivering CAD/BIM data and supporting the project lifecycle.

• Deliver CAD/BIM design data and undertake quality control processes, contributing to the development of CAD/BIM standards.
• Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal and cost capture.
• Support the development of the common data environment platform and processes (Autodesk CC/BIM 360).
• Create and develop a standardised BIM element library, supporting model reuse and a production approach including affordable and low‑carbon solutions.
• Take responsibility for cyber security aspects associated with CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate them into project models.
• Work with designers to manage competing tensions of time, cost and quality.
• Manage safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability within BIM/CAD output.
• Support team understanding of BIM and mentor less experienced BIM technicians.

• Recognised qualification in computer‑aided design (CAD), BIM or a related field.
• Proficiency in one or more Autodesk authoring packages (Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
• Experience with water, wastewater, non‑infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
• Experience authoring 3D models in a common data environment platform (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360).
• Understanding of working in a common data environment platform and managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles.
• Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
