The LPN plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—under RN supervision. Responsibilities include patient education, care planning, and support across clinical and housing units.
Key Responsibilities- Under RN supervision, assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
- Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administer medications—including IV therapy if certified—and perform diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting to ensure effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high‑quality patient care.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinical experience.
- Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
This is a PRN/LPN position.
