About the roleWe are seeking a Senior or Staff Steam Turbine Engineer to support a non‑nuclear power generation fleet.
This role blends engineering analysis, field support, outage execution, and long‑term maintenance planning.
You will act as a technical expert for steam turbines and related equipment across multiple stations.
The role supports both planned outages and urgent operational events.
What you will do- Perform steam turbine inspections, assessments, and condition evaluations
- Lead or support root cause analysis for turbine issues and repeat failures
- Provide technical support during planned and forced outages
- Recommend repair, replacement, or run decisions based on risk and performance
- Develop short and long term turbine maintenance strategies for the fleet
- Review vibration, thermal, and operational performance data
- Work closely with plant staff, outage planners, project managers, and vendors
- Support vendor selection, repair shop inspections, and quality oversight
- Serve as a steam turbine subject matter expert and promote best practices
- Five or more years supporting non‑nuclear steam turbines
- Experience with turbine operation, maintenance, and inspections
- Knowledge of ASME PTC 6, turbine machining, welding, and NDE methods
- Eight or more years supporting non‑nuclear steam turbines
- Strong leadership with experience guiding other engineers
- Advanced engineering judgment and problem solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working independently and across teams
- FE or PE license
- Experience using PI Process Book and SAP
- Prior fleet or corporate engineering experience
- Approximately 60 percent office based and 40 percent plant based work
- Travel up to 40 percent, with higher demand during outage seasons
- Exposure to heat, noise, machinery, and confined spaces
- Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays during outages
This role directly supports plant reliability, equipment life, and safe power generation.
Engineering decisions made in this position have real operational and financial impact.
Pay and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $163,000 per year.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience and skills.
