Cloud Platform Architect – Azure, GCP & AutomationLocation: Richmond, Virginia (Onsite)
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract
Role OverviewA Cloud Architect is responsible for overseeing a company's cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. The role involves overseeing application architecture and deployment in cloud environments, ensuring the infrastructure aligns with business needs for scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a cloud migration strategy integrated with business objectives.
- Design and coordinate the architecture of cloud-based applications and services.
- Assess project requirements and recommend suitable cloud solutions.
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to the cloud.
- Ensure the security of cloud-based systems by implementing appropriate controls.
- Optimize cloud service efficiency through performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Plan and implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Create and maintain documentation of cloud architectures, operations, and workflows.
- Provide guidance on infrastructure movement techniques, including bulk application transfers.
Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Experience: Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role is necessary. Candidates should have an understanding of network operations, software development, and information security.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Python is required. Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, cloud ecosystems, APIs, and frameworks is also needed. Familiarity with coding languages such as Java or .NET is expected.
- Experience with SQL and other data tools.
- Familiarity with the Horizon toolset.
- Knowledge of Change Management processes.
Pay Rate: $65.00/hr - $70.24/hr.
