Nighttime Dispatch Supervisor - Monday - Thursday 9pm - 7 am (Alternating Weekends)
MUST HAVE PRIOR TRANSPORTATION DISPATCH EXPERIENCE
Full Time Monday thru Friday 8am to 5:30pm and alternating Saturdays required.
Dispatch experience required, prefer waste industry experience or knowledge
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize drivers daily route by pick up location, destination, rate and delivery time; pairs first delivery with second pick-up to maximize efficiency; anticipates pick-up and delivery requirements. Ensure driver has all required tools to complete daily route, i.e., e-z pass, hauling manifest, load times, hours of operation and directions when needed.
Engage in driver daily pick-ups and deliveries to ensure timeliness and provide copious customer service.
Accurately verifies route orders and completes daily by confirming BOL’s information against computerized order in McLeod; attention to detail is a must. Keep customers informed by answering questions regarding pick up date, provides ETA’s to customers, frequent daily follow up with customer to ensure service is superior. Build professional rapport with drivers, customers, managers and team members. Maintain the route drivers’ daily schedules and dispatch the drivers with routing efficiency. Clear and concise communications with managers, employees and company customers, including keeping customers appraised as to company schedule and requested lead-times. Maintain the computerized dispatch board / schedule.
Ability to prioritize competing demands, problem solve, flexible-can work independently and in a team environment. Other duties as assigned.
Advanced friendly written and oral customer service and verbal skills.
Ability to work in fast paced environment and multi-task Geographical knowledge of service areas
Knowledge of Waste industry is preferred but not required Computer Skills, Organized, Detailed, Prioritize work flow, Communication skills,
Monitor and report drivers performing DOT Pre trip
Knowledge of tractor and trailers for maintenance purposes
Maintain a positive and productive relationship with drivers
Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize
Must be able to perform without supervision and under pressure
Update and enter daily delivery orders
Monitor drivers' on time and report late arrivals, no call no show and call outs
Must have the ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
You must be reliable and on-time with excellent computer and verbal communication skills
Use of excel for reporting purposes
Courteous, friendly, and professional behavior
